In the 19th anniversary of the massacre of Srebrenica, Munira Subasic, president and spokesperson of the association “Mothers of Srebrenica”, depicts the fight of the women who keep trying to find their loved ones lost in the genocide and give them a proper burial.
She explains how the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina is still an open wound that the world, and especially Europe, seems to have forgotten. Memory and the hope for justice and human rights is what makes the mothers of Sebrenica able to live and cope with their traumatic past, although the road ahead is long, as not all of the victims have been yet identified.
